Take the first step in your criminal justice career! Our Deputy Sheriff's serve and protect the community members of Frederick County through proactive patrols, emergency response, and community engagement.
On your Testing Day you will complete:
- Written Examination - *Lateral Applicants are EXEMPT from the written examination
- Physical Agility Testing (Authorization Form Signed by Physician Required)

At the Frederick County Adult Detention Center every day is unique. Correctional Officers and Civilian Correctional Staff work with the community, the entire criminal justice system, and those entrusted to the Corrections Bureau’s care and custody by the courts.
